Dr. Lauren Kole is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology in the Yale University School of Medicine. She sees patients at multiple locations including Yale Dermatology Branford, Yale Health Center, and Yale Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Kole's clinical practice encompasses both general and complex medical dermatology. She treats common skin disorders such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, as well as disorders of the hair and nails. She completes skin exams to screen for skin cancers such as squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, and other rare malignancies. Dr. Kole also performs cosmetic dermatologic procedures such as chemical peels, injections of neuromodulators (e.g. Botox) and fillers (e.g. Juvederm), and laser surgery to remove unwanted hair or to treat rosacea.
Dr. Kole grew up in Carolina Beach, NC. She graduated in 2004 from Duke University with degrees in Chemistry and Biology. She was a researcher at the Friedrich Miescher Institute in Basel, Switzerland prior to beginning medical school at the University of North Carolina (UNC) in Chapel Hill, NC. She was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and earned her MD in 2010. Dr. Kole completed her Internship in Internal Medicine at UNC. She was then selected for a fellowship in clinical research at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB), where she also completed a Residency in Dermatology. Dr. Kole served as Chief Resident at UAB prior to joining the faculty at Yale.
