Jonathan Leventhal, MD is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and directs the Yale Onco-Dermatology Clinic. He sees patients at Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH), Yale Branford Dermatology, Yale Dermatology Associates and YNHH’s Primary Care Center.
Dr. Leventhal provides care for patients with general and complex dermatologic disease. He specializes in treating patients with cancer of all types with various conditions of the skin, hair and nails associated with their disease and treatment. He conducts skin examinations in high-risk patients to diagnose and treat skin cancer including melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma. Dr. Leventhal is experienced with surgical, as well as non-surgical methods to treat skin cancer. He is also experienced with systemic medications including biologic agents, immunosuppressive agents and retinoids, as well as phototherapy.
Dr. Leventhal is a graduate of New York University College of Arts and Science, where he earned a BA in Biology, was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and was awarded the Charles H. Willey Prize for Best Honors Thesis in Biology. He attended medical school at New York University, with election to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at Winthrop-University Hospital and a Residency in Dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Hugh L. Dwyer Memorial Fund Award for clinical excellence.
